Article Marketing: Increase Your Traffic the "Write" Way

Author: Kevin Ocasio

"Content Is King!" I'm sure you've come across that phrase at least once before if you've been doing business online for even a short while. That is one of the truer statements you will come across in the online business world. Good, quality content will benefit your online business in many ways. Here are just three reasons why you need to use good content:

1. Your web site visitors will find the content useful and will return to your site to read any other information you have to share with them.

2. The search engines love good, quality content and will rank your pages higher because of it.

3. Other web site owners will use your content on their web site or in their newsletter with your link attached. This will result in increased link popularity and free traffic for your web site.

As you can see, you stand to gain free traffic just by using good, quality content in your online business!

Now that you see that content is in fact "King," it's time to create some. I know that writing even short articles can be a little intimidating or frustrating, especially if you're not a strong writer. Just take your time and remember that the more interesting and diverse your content, the better your traffic results will be. Here are a few tips to help you write a good, quality article.

* Write About Things That Interest You

When creating your article, you want to make sure it comes out as good as possible. One of the best ways to make sure this happens is to write about a topic that you're really interested in. If you can talk about a particular topic for hours and hours, then you should consider writing about that.

This point really should not be overlooked because if you write about something that you have zero interest in, more than likely the article will not come out very good. Writing shoddy content will not benefit you in any way and will only waste your reader's time and yours. Think about it, who really wants to come back to a site that offers junk? That brings us to my next point...

* The Importance of Quality Over Quantity

Which would you rather have - 100 junky article pages on your site that no one has any interest in reading or 10 quality articles that users find useful and will have no problem recommending to family and friends? The answer to that question should be obvious. Take your time and put a lot of thought into your writing and you'll end up with a quality article that your visitors will enjoy reading. Even if it takes an hour to write a short article, the end result will be a viral marketing tool that will bring your web site free traffic for a long time to come.

* No Thanks, I Don't Like "Fluff"...

When writing your articles or any other type of content, make sure you're direct and to the point. Don't add any unnecessary junk to your content just to fill-up space or to meet certain word counts. Your readers will see right through this and will most likely never read anything else you write. Avoiding "fluff" in your content will not only result in a more natural flow to your article, it will keep your readers happy and coming back for more!

* Proofread Your Article

Take the time to read and re-read your articles. Even better, have a friend or family member proofread your articles for you! You want to make sure you catch all grammatical errors before releasing your article. Its also a great idea to use a spell checker to make sure you havent misspelled any words.

Do a quick search on Google and youll find literally millions of free spell checkers online! Taking just a few minutes of your time to do this will make your articles look much more professional and will improve your results.

Focus on these important aspects and you will develop content that will not only boost your web site traffic now, but will maintain your web site traffic for some time to come. By the way, if you want quality content, but would rather not spend the time or go through the frustration of writing it, you may want to look into hiring a professional. I recommend trying to write your content yourself, but this is a good alternative option just in case.

One final tip - take action now and start writing!
