What Is On Your Mind?

Author: Karen Singer

Congratulations! You have booked your first home party, first craft fair or open house. Now what do you do?

I hope your first answer was to relax and celebrate.

Most people I have asked this question to answered with one word, WORRY!

Worry if they had enough products, worry if their prices were okay, and worry if they were going to make sales, etc.

Yes, this is a natural instinct and I have had these thoughts myself with my first home party. Could you guess the outcome of that party? I did make sales, after all these were my friends and family, but I went home so stressed, thinking I woud never do this again!

That was a year ago and looking back now I clearly see how the frame of mind I was in directly corresponded to the outcome of the party.

Since then I have changed and you can too. Change has to start from within, choose what is on your mind. Think right and you will succeed.

Now when I have a craft fair to attend or a home party to do, the first steps I take to making it a success is to work on my mindset.

Literally on the day of the event, before I am even out of bed, I take five minutes to visualize the entire event. What I will be wearing, how my display will look, how will I present myself and my company, how easy the conversation will flow between myself and my customers.

Allowing the people who wander over to my display to see that I am exactly where I want to be at that moment, doing exactly what I love to do. There is no worry about my products, I know how wonderful they are and they sell themselves. My goal is to have people see how relaxed I am, how easy this is and for them to think, I can do this too!

These are five steps you can use to help you change from within and start on a stress free road to success. Read them daily until they become a way of life for you.

1. Positive Self Esteem. Believe that you are good enough, smart enough and deserving of success.

2. Put Your Whole Heart Into What You Are Doing. Ever do something and your heart just is not into it? The results will be exactly what you put into it.

3. Visualize What You Want. Have you ever woken up and your dream seemed so real? Visualize your desires and your mind will make it happen.

4. Have Confidence. Think. Yes I can! Your confidence will grow, stress will lessen and you will take more steps to action.

5. Celebrate Your Accomplishments. Use every little step you take as a way to boost yourself up in your own eyes. Remember it starts from within. See yourself as you want others to see you.
