Author: Alan Hood

Forehead Lift Information

A Forehead Lift is the medical terminology for what most people refer to as a browlift, forehead lift, brow forehead lift, and browlift surgery in general.

In this procedure the goal is to correct and minimize forehead creases, drooping eyebrows, hooding over eyes, furrowed forehead and frown lines. This is accomplished by removing excess tissue, altering muscles and tightening the forehead skin. There are two surgical procedures that may be utilized to perform a Forehead Lift. The traditional employs the use of an incision across the top of the head just behind the hairline. The procedure known as the endoscopic Forehead Lift utilizes an endoscope, which requires 3 to 5 short incisions.

Length and details of the Forehead Lift procedure

The length of operation typically runs 1 to 2 hours.

Patients are given a general or local anesthesia, with sedation.

Most Forehead Lift procedures are routinely outpatient.

For most patients the recovery time needed varies with the type of procedure. Those involved in sports or other physical activities will be able to resume these activities in approximately 2 to 3 weeks. Individuals are advised to limit their exposure to the sun for several months afterwards.
